In a press release issued on Thursday, October 19, the rapper known for “Church in These Streets” expressed that his main concern, as well as Jeannie’s, is the well-being of their daughter.
He stated, “The decision to end this chapter in my life was not a hasty one and is accompanied by a heavy heart. Nevertheless, my love and respect for Jeannie remain intact, and the moments we shared hold a special place in my heart.”
He went on to sаy, “Our wonderful daughter is the most precious gift from our relationship, and I am committed to ensuring that she receives the love and stability she deserves. During this time, I kindly request that you respect our family’s privacy as we focus on healing.”
Jeezy’s statement came just over a week after Jeannie Mai made a statement of her own. Despite the fact that the couple reportedly still lives together, Jeannie posted a subtle message on Instagram on October 11, hinting at the need to take a break, which may be related to her strained relationship with the “Put On” hitmaker.
In her note, she wrote, “Sometimes you need to take a break and disconnect to heal,” alongside a black heart emoji.
Jeannie Mai received an outpouring of love and support from friends, family, and fans in the comments, all offering encouragement during this challenging time.
One person wrote, “You don’t owe us anything, not a word, not a video, not a photo/selfie. Nothing! Release that pressure and just live up to your expectations, not anyone else’s! Bless.” Another added, “Do what you need for yourself and your family, for as long as you need. Love you, Sis!”
Mai and Jeezy tied the knot in 2021 and welcomed their daughter Monaco last year. Reportedly, there is a prenuptial agreement in place for their divorce, which Jeezy filed for last month.
According to Page Six, Jeannie Mai has been left feeling “devastated” by Jeezy’s divorce filing and hopes to reconcile with her family.
The source revealed, “The trutҺ is Jeannie wants her marriage to work and wants her family to be a strong, united unit. She is devastated that Jeezy filed for divorce. She deeply loves Jeezy and wants to work things out. She did not get married with the intention of getting divorced. This was not part of her plan. It’s not how she imagined things unfolding. Even though Jeezy has filed, Jeannie is holding onto hope that he would be willing to sit down and work things out. She hopes for a resolution and wants to stay together as a united family.”
