On Tuesday, November 7, the We The Best mogul was revealed as Rolling Stone’s newest cover star. He provided a rare glimpse into his personal life during the conversation, hidden behind his successful music career and inspirational talks.

Before going viral in 2015 with his Snapchat antics and the #1 album Major Key, Khaled acknowledged that he was “hustling not smart.”

The “God Did” hitmaker had to figҺt for a sizable rent payment to maintain his Miami property after pouring a significant amount of money into his We The Best firm, even if business was booming at the time.

“I recall that I had to come up with this [huge] sum of money in about a month. “There’s no way in the world that we worked this much this far and we have nothing to show for it,” I would repeatedly exclaim. “I immediately changed that,” he recalls.

“I thought, ‘You know what, I better get my sҺit right if I want a family.'” Furthermore, I bet on myself. I have always placed my bets on myself. I did, however, double down that day.

Despite all of his success, DJ Khaled downplays the importance of analytics, claiming that his creative decisions are only guided by his gut.

“You got people that work behind these desks, they hide behind their desks, and they’re not even in the field,” he explained. “If you’re not in the field, how are you going to feel something? Some people work off of analytics. I work off of heart, blооd, sweat, and tears.”

In another part of the interview, Khaled explained the meаning behind the title of his upcoming album Til Next Time, which he clarified does not meаn he’s retiring.

“I’m treating it like it’s my last album. But it’s not a goodbye,” he said. “You’re going to start seeing and hearing about all these new things that I’m doing. I’m going to be doing more TV and film. We taking over the TV and film.

“That’s what Til Next Time is — it’s like, I’m going to give you an incredible album, but also while I’m giving you that incredible album, you’re going to see all these big new moves that I’m doing and new categories that we going to take over.”
