Lakers fans react furiously when Lil Wayne says ‘If the Lakers want to be a championship team, they have to get rid of Anthony Davis’

The rapper is taking a rιsk with this one, for sure. Lil Wayne announced on Undisputed that the Lakers needed to move Anthony Davis on his weekly show. The rapper declared, “The Lakers must cut AD if they want to win a championship.” With Davis sidelined due to ιnjury, the Lakers have a 3-5 record to begin the season. The group has had a great deal of difficulty being consistent. But is dealing Davis, one of the team’s best players when healthy, truly the best course of action?

Lil Wayne Sits Courtside with Lookalike Son Kameron, 13, at NBA FinalsAside from LeBron, Davis is the only other Laker averaging more than 20 points per game this year. Davis also leads the club in rebounds (12 per game). And if Davis was available, would any teams be able to accommodate the irrational demands that the Lakers would undoubtedly make? It seems unlikely in light of Davis’ recently agreed contract extension. But what do you think of Wayne’s suggestion? Tell us in the comments below.

The Lakers had no response for the Rockets earlier this week without Davis on the floor. The Rockets defeated the Lakers, who were 0-5 on the road this season, behind a game-high 28 points from Jalen Green and 19 from rookie big Alperen Sengun. Following his vow to “lock up” LeBron, Brooks ended with four rebounds and five points. LeBron, on the other hand, who had praised Brooks earlier in the day, ended up with 18 points and six rebounds. With 24 points, Rui Hachimura led the Lakers in scoring. But he was just one of three Lakers, including D’Angelo Russell and LeBron, to score in double figures.

It’s that easy. We simply don’t have enough players with injuries, Lebron stated following the game. Anthony Davis, Jaxson Hayes, Jarred Vanderbilt, Jalen Hood-Schfino, and Gabe Vincent are all out of the Lakers lineup right now. The Lakers’ first game of the in-season tournament group stage is against Phoenix on Friday; the team is hoping that Davis will be ready.
