Metro Boomin Collaborates with Future, Lil Durk, JID, and NAV on Exciting Projects

”After more than a decade of preparation, it was surreal to perform @coachella with my brother @1future in front of 20,000+ people,” Metro wrote at the beginning of the post, which was also shared on Instagram and featured several fiery images of the colossal performance.

In the first third of his Coachella Weekend 1 set, Future performed alongside the superproducer, performing “Mask Off,” “Thought It Was a Drought,” “I Serve the Base,” “Wicked,” and “Digital Dash.” A fitting prelude for fans anticipating the legendary duo’s endeavors in 2023 was the reminder of their unconquerable 2015-16 run on projects such as Dirty Sprite 2, What a Time to Be Alive, and Purple Reign.

Metro told Ebro Darden in January, while conducting press for his most recent album Heroes & Villains, that the collaboration would be the album of the year. “[Future] completed the majority of the album in my Los Angeles studio.” He disclosed, “That is my brother, but we are currently working on something.” “Initially, we had intended to include a few tracks featuring him and I on the album; however, we decided to remove them after I had engaged in conversation with him. … I replied, “Look, ‘Mask Off’ was the last time anyone truly heard a song from me and you.” As a result, rather than haphazardly selecting one or two tracks to perform, we were required to exercise patience and offer them a joint. He continued in March by stating to Flaunt magazine, “This entire superhero moment is essentially the start of our phase two. Since ‘Mask Off,’ we have not released a single; they have been on our minds. With this and the entire State Farm situation, people are beginning to gradually realize that we are also resuming our efforts.”Don Toliver, 21 Savage, and The Weeknd (who debuted a new song) were also featured during Metro’s Coachella performance. It is yet to be seen how he will surpass Weekend 1’s experience.Aside from Coachella performances, Metro, in collaboration with NTWRK, hosted a Heroes & Villains capsule collection pop-up in Los Angeles for two days during this period. Several clips of the occasion are displayed below.
