For What Reason Does Kanye West Refuse To Compose A New Album This Time For Nicki Minaj No Matter How Hard She Tried?
Nicki Minaj and Kanye West’s long-awaited collaboration “New Body” will not be given new life any time soon, at least not in her opinion.
The 41-year-old “Suρer Freaky Girl” rapper seemingly denied Kanye West’s demand that the track, which has been delayed since at least 2018, be included on his forthcoming album Vultures.
West, 46, initiated the conversation on Thursday by tweeting a screenshot of a text message he purportedly exchanged with Minaj, requesting authorization to release “New Body” on Vultures. “New Body” is a collaborative effort between West and Ty Dolla $ign as the superduo.
West wrote, “Hello, it’s you,” in the text that he uploaded to X (previously known as Twitter). “Permit me to speak with you by phone regarding the clearing of the new body on the new album.”
While Minaj did not provide an immediate reply to the text, she did address its release during an Instagram Live, clarifying that the moment had passed and the song would not be forthcoming.
“With respect to Kanye, that train has departed the station, all right?” she inquired. “With no ill will towards you, I have just released an entirely new album. Why, then, would I release a recording that has been available for three years? Come on, everyone. Are you aware?”
Minaj, who earlier this month issued her fifth studio album Pink Friday 2, collaborated with Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign on the track “New Body” for the rapper’s Yandhi, an album that was ultimately canceled.
Minaj was not pleased with the “Stronger” rapper’s subsequent statement that he intended to rework the track for his 2019 gospel album Jesus Is King.
“Laughty as it may sound, Kanye recently collaborated with me on a song that he intends to alter into a gospel tune.” I’ve composed three distinct verses for chile, and I have no idea. “Our perspectives differ significantly,” she disclosed to The Shade Room in 2019. “We shall observe the outcome of that.”
The song eventually surfaced, and despite going viral on TikTоk, Minaj reiterated in a February 2022 interview with Hоt 106 that it was highly unlikely to be released.
“I hold each individual in high regard, recognizing their unique life and spiritual journey. The audience was captivated by ‘New Body.’ She stated, “‘New Body’ is the biggest Һit record that never was released.” “‘New Body’ would have been released prior to [West]’s gospel era if it had been released at that time. However, since it failed to materialize, it was not destined to be. It is common knowledge that that was the shot that escaped capture…. It appears that the ship has set sail for ‘New Body.’ Such is the nature of events that occasionally transpire in our world.”
Although the song’s future remаins uncertain, as it is still included in the track listing for Vultures, Minaj is riding high following the release of Pink Friday 2, which features collaborations with Drake, 50 Cent, J. Cole, Lil Wayne, and other notable artists.
