Exploring Kim Kardashian’s $60M LA Mansion: A Minimalist Marvel Critiqued by North West as ‘Ugly’

Kim Kardashian has a “minimal monastery” that you access.

Reportedly, the billionaire reality personality paid $20 million in 2014 for her expansive Los Angeles mansion, which had been renovated by Belgian designer Axel Vervoordt.

Together, she and her ex-husband Kanye West purchased the infamously minimalistic residence, which they subsequently renovated extensively.

Following the divorce in 2021, Kardashian was granted the right to retain the residence.

While all four of their small children—Psalm, North, Saint, and Chicago—have been raised on the property, their eldest daughter is not particularly fond of it.

“My daughter North interprets any disagreement I have with her as an insult and will remark, ‘Your house is so unattractive.'” Everything is white. “Who would live this way?” Kardashian disclosed the information on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in 2021 during a “Mom Confessions” segment.

Kardashian chose to decorate the entirety of her residence in a straightforward style.

“Gad, my God! “When asked how she maintains such a spotless cream home, the founder of Skims responded to Architectural Digest in January 2018 by stating, “I run around the house with towels.”

“Instead, you must simply inhale deeply and accept that “OK, it’s going to happen.” “We reached a consensus to use lighter hues,” she continued.

“The fact that our most recent residence was entirely gray served as a practical trial run, as we were aware that we would be relocating to a lighter-colored dwelling.”

There is a reason why the “Kardashians” star stated, “Everything in [her] house is really minimal.”

Ahead of a February 2022 house tour, she told Vogue, “I find that there is so much chaos in the outside world that when I return home, I want everything to be extremely tranquil and calming.”

She selected Vervoordt to design the residence after observing his prior work.

“Upon observing the caliber of his work, I was immediately thinking, ‘This individual could design Batman’s mansion.'” “We had to collaborate,” she disclosed.

The fashion icon has provided numerous glimpses of her residence over the years, revealing its empty vestibule, long hallways, and monochromatic finishes.

One of these entities is dissimilar to the other.

Kardashian disclosed that her children’s nursery is enormous and hardly resembles the beige room that is immediately adjacent.

“You all say my house is so minimalistic, but you haven’t even seen my playroom,” she stated in an Instagram Live in February 2020.

Given that one of Kardashian’s favored times of year is the holiday season, it should come as no surprise that she decorates extravagantly.

In light of the house’s preponderance of white elements, the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” alum decided to spray paint her Christmas tree white and decorate it with white lights.

Additionally, she embellishes her foyer with a forest of abstract “trees” that are “so whimsical, it’s like Whoville, but in white,” she explained during a tour of her 2019 décor.
