Jay-Z leads the list of most nominated artists in Grammy history

The Grammy Awards organizers announced the nomination list on November 23. The latest three Grammy nominations for Jay-Z are through collaborations with other artists. He appeared as a guest on DMX’s Bath Salts and Kanye West’s Jail, which received nominations for Best Rap Song. Jay-Z also collaborated on Kanye West’s album Donda, which received a nomination for Album of the Year.

Jay-Z has won 23 Grammy Awards including Best Rap Album in 1999 and Best Song Crazy in Love with his wife Beyoncé in 2004 and Empire State of Mind with Alicia Keys in 2011. Earlier this year, Beyoncé set the record for a female artist to win the most Grammy awards with a 28-year career.

Paul McCartney’s total Grammy nominations increased to 81 with two nominations for Best Rock Album (McCartney III) and Best Rock Song (Find My Way).

Producer Quincy Jones, who was tied with Jay-Z for most of the previous nominations, received 80 Grammy nominations during his lifetime.
