Explore a Sold-Out, Unreleased Colorway of Travis Scott x fragment design x Air Jordan 1 Low
Whether one is in favor of or opposed to Travis Scott, the prolific nature of his collaborations with Nike and Jordan Brand is indisputable. The rapper and the brand have produced an abundance of high-heat and high-hype releases for over a decade. This output also provides an abundance of sample pairings that were ultimately not utilized. An alternate rendition of the Travis Scott x fragment design x Air Jordan 1 Low is the most recent to emerge.
Although the pair’s history is unknown, the tooling code on the midsole is the primary indicator that it is, in fact, a prototype. It bears the inscription “FA21,” which signifies that it was a discarded prototype of the retail pair that landed in August 2021, as observed upon closer inspection. Six primary distinctions set this pair apart from the iteration that ultimately made it to market: sail accents are absent, blue dominates the overlays in contrast to the black and blue combination on the retail pair; Swooshes are executed entirely in black rather than in a two-tone design; text hits are utilized on the midsoles and quarter panels; and embossed logos are absent from the heel (although the co-branded heel tabs remain intact).
Additionally, this is not the first Scott/fragment/Air Jordan 1 Low sample we’ve seen; in September 2022, fragment design founder Hiroshi Fujiwara was observed donning a predominantly white sample. Despite the fact that this iteration is unlikely to be released, there are detailed photographs above and on-foot photographs below.
