This year, Lil Wayne will be returning home, so to speak. He will be attending the Roots Picnic.

The festival’s recently confirmed headliners include the Cash Money rhymer, Nas, Gunna, Jill Scott, Victoria Monét, and André 3000, the latter of whom is touring in support of his instrumental album New Blue Sun.
Alongside The Roots, PJ Mortant, Trombone Shorty, and other artists, Weezy’s performance is touted as an homage to the rapper’s homeland.

On June 1 and 2, The Mann in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia, will host the festival. Tickets for the pre-sale go on sale on Tuesday, February 20, at 10 a.m. Eastern. The webpage for the festival has further details.
Other well-known performers at the festival include Scarface, Cam’ron, Sexyy Red, and, always a highlight, DJ J. Period’s “Live Mixtape,” which this year includes Method Man, Redman, and Roots rapper Black Thought.

Furthermore, Fantastia and Adam Blackstone, the musical director to the stars, will reunite for Blackstone’s “Legacy Experience” act, which he performed at this year’s Grammy Awards with Muni Long.

A few months after André 3000’s New Blue Sun tour concludes, he will perform. This is his first solo expedition, which was publicized a month ago and is still going on as of this writing.

Several musicians that collaborated on the production of 3 Stacks’ first solo album, such as Carlos Niño, Nate Mercereau, Surya Botofasina, and Deantoni Parks, accompany him on tour.
The reunion of the Fugees made last year’s Roots Picnic noteworthy. While there, Questlove recorded the once-in-a-lifetime occasion on camera.
