Rapper Sean Combs, a multiple Grammy winner, claims that God urged him to return to music.
This week, the 54-year-old, who went by the names Puff Daddy and P Diddy, will be a guest on BBC1’s The Graham Norton Show.
Thirteen years after his previous album, he was promoting his new one and informed the host, “I prefer to take my time!
“I stopped being creative and quit composing music after going through a healing process.
“I was making music on a low frequency until God informed me it was time to pick it back up.
The three-time Grammy winner was raised Catholic, but he no longer identifies as belonging to any one religion. Nevertheless, he regularly discusses his faith.
“First of all, God is my best friend; the reason I wanted to do a gospel album was to give thanks,” he stated in a 2016 interview with the media site Ebony.
“Bad Boy (his company) has made a lot of things cool throughout the years, including the designers we support, the way we dress and dance, and the sunglasses we wear. We want to make God seem cool, therefore we’re going to support him now.”
The Graham Norton Show is accessible on iPlayer and broadcasts on BBC One on Friday nights.
