Cardi B paid poignant homage to the late rapper Takeoff on Instagram on Friday night. Takeoff was her husband Offset’s cousin and Migos bandmate.

Her message was made hours after she attended Takeoff’s funeral in the wet downtown Atlanta neighborhood where the 28-year-old grew up, along with a sizable group of loved ones and admirers.

Takeoff, real name Kirsnick Khari Ball, was shot and killed outside a bowling alley in Houston earlier this month.

‘The pain is indescribable and this has honestly been a nightmare,’ Cardi posted on Instagram this Friday night.

 

An collection of vintage photos, featuring him with Offset and his uncle Quavo—with whom he founded the hip-hop duo Migos—was posted by her.

In another screenshot that Cardi released, she had a private conversation with Takeoff in which she gave him advice about his future and he gushed, saying, “Love you too 4L & After thank u sis.”

 

“Takeoff, a great deal of pain and sorrow have been brought to so many lives by your unexpected passing.” We have found it difficult to understand this tragedy because of the enormous impact you had on the world,’ she captioned the photo.

“Although I am inconsolable, I am thankful for all the priceless moments we had together while you were here.” Cardi said, “This has really been a nightmare, and the pain is unimaginable.”
